Office Depot and OfficeMax is having a sale on Visa gift cards until Saturday, 5/16/15.   The sale is for $20 OFF a $300 purchase of Visa gift cards.

Unlike Staples, there is no rebate and the $20 is automatically deducted from the register.  While these gift cards have a fee, the discount will make the gift card purchase essentially fee free and one can even earn some extra money depending on the denominations of gift cards purchased. For more information, here is the link to the weekly ad (see page 8).

Here are a few things to know about this sale:

1. There is a limit of 2 offers per customer.  If you want to take advantage of this discount multiple times, try going to a different cashier or returning to the store multiple times.

2.  Office Depot and OfficeMax sell different types of Visa gift cards.

OfficeMax sells regular Visa gift cards (similar to those sold at Staples and issued by Metabank). Visa gift cards can be loaded using Bluebird and Serve at Walmart.

Office Depot sells Vanilla Visa gift cards.  Vanilla Visas can be loaded with Bluebird only at $49.99 or less so if you find a $200 Vanilla Visa gift card have to unload it four times at Walmart.

3.  Best Way to Maximize Profit Is To Buy The Highest Denominations You Can Find.  The math of how much profit can be made is similar to the recent Staples deal.

This is a great opportunity to purchase tons of gift cards without paying a fee. These gift cards can be used as a debit card using a pin number. Finding discounts on pin enabled gift cards is a good way to earn points without incurring the gift card fees.
