If you have flexible travel plans and would love to stay at a luxury hotel or resort for cheap, one website you might want to check out is Luxury Travel Diary’s auctions. For those not familiar with it, Luxury Travel Diary is a website focused on luxury travel.  It has an auction page where you can bid on various travel items including hotels around the world.

Several auctions don’t have a lot of bids so this can be a way to snag luxury accommodation at a huge discount! Some of these auctions don’t have a minimum price (or reserve price) so there is no limit on how large of a discount you can get. If not a lot of people bid or they don’t bid very high you can score a hotel at an incredible deal.

There are not a lot of properties being auctioned off so this is not a reliable way to find a hotel that fits your travel plans. However, I do think this site worth checking out once in a while to see if there is an auction for a property that fits your travel plans or if you are very flexible.  If a hotel or villa you are interested in is on the list, you might as well place a bid even if you think it is too low.
