The Japan Airlines (JAL) First Class Lounge was the second oneworld first class lounge we visited on our “tour of lounges” at Narita International Airport. This is JAL’s flagship lounge located on the 3rd floor in the main building (another JAL First Class Lounge is located a floor above). The entrance is shared with the Sakura Lounge.
Our initial impression was that the lounge was crowded.
We didn’t love the seating layout. Although the seats themselves were comfortable enough, the area was very open and lacked privacy.
The only exception to this were two massage chairs.
On a positive note, the lounge had a great view of the apron.
Amenities included a spa with complimentary 10 minute treatments, showers and a smoking room.
A business center was equipped with several computers and workstations to plug in laptops. Oddly enough, the business center was not as well lit as the rest of the lounge.
The food was the best part of this lounge. A large selection of food and drinks was available, including a sake bar and sushi bar.
Calories were listed besides each dish. We thought this was helpful in theory but ignored the signs and sampled whatever looked good to us- we were pleased with our choices.
Overall, we would choose Japan Airlines First Class Lounge for the food selection (largest of the three first class oneworld lounges we visited at Tokyo Narita) but not for the relaxation. The seating was comfy and the apron views were nice but the lounge just felt a little too open and crowded for us.
