Following is a guide on how to earn Hyatt points.  Obviously you can earn Hyatt points for staying at Hyatt hotels, but here are some other ways to get Hyatt points that you might not be aware of.

Transfer from Chase Ultimate Rewards Points

The fastest way to get Hyatt points is to transfer Ultimate Rewards points from to Hyatt points at a 1:1 ratio. Transfers are instant.

Apply for the World of Hyatt Credit Card

If you plan to stay at Hyatt hotels frequently you might want to consider applying for the World of Hyatt Credit Card. You can earn a welcome bonus of up to 60,000 Hyatt points – 30,000 bonus points after $3,000 in purchases within 3 months of account opening plus an additional 30,000 Bonus Points by earning 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spent in the first 6 months from account opening on purchases that normally earn 1 Bonus Point, on up to $15,000 spent.

Other features of the World of Hyatt Credit Card include:

  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at all Hyatt hotels; 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent at restaurants, on airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting as well as fitness club and gym memberships; 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
  • Receive one free night at any Category 1–4 Hyatt hotel or resort every year after your cardmember anniversary.
    Earn an additinal free night at any Category 1–4 Hyatt hotel or resort if you spend $15,000 during your cardmember anniversary year.
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $95 annual fee.

Refer the World of Hyatt Credit Card

If you already have the World of Hyatt Credit Card, you can receive Hyatt points for referring the card to your friends and family.  You can earn 5,000 points per referral up to a maximum of 25,000 points per calendar year.  Visit https://www.chase.com/referafriend/worldofhyatt to make a referral.

Apply for Other Chase Credit Cards

If you already have the World of Hyatt Credit card or if it is not right for you can apply for a Chase credit card that earns Ultimate Rewards points. The following Chase credit cards earn Ultimate Rewards points that you can directly transfer to Hyatt (and other airline and hotel partners) and offer a large welcome bonus for signing up for these cards. Earn 3 points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in the following categories (travel, shipping purchases, Internet, cable and phone services, and on advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines) and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.

You can also earn Ultimate Rewards with no annual fee cards (like the Chase Freedom FlexChase Freedom UnlimitedInk Business Cash and Ink Business Unlimited) but you will need one of the premium cards above in order to combine your Ultimate Rewards points and transfer them to Hyatt.

Online Shopping

Hyatt does not have a shopping portal but if you have one or more Chase credit cards that earn Ultimate Rewards points you can use the Ultimate Rewards shopping portal to earn points.

Get Hyatt Points from Friends or Family

Hyatt lets its members points share points once every 30 days. To combine Hyatt points, you have to fill out this form.

Rent a Car with Avis
