It’s not you.  It’s me.  I’m sorry.

We were airport bound for our first flight in Singapore Suites class.  Our taxi slowed down as it approached the entrance to the first class check in and before we knew it, our doors were pulled open and our bags were loaded on a luggage cart. Um, I don’t think the taxi had even made a complete stop yet.

With our bags already at the check in desk, a staff member invited us to sit.  What?  No standing up and no waiting in line?  Nice.

We were then presented with our golden tickets – two invitations to The Private Room at the SilverKris Lounge.  The invitations are not actually necessary to enter The Private Room (you can just show your boarding pass) but they do make a nice souvenir.

There is a separate immigration line for priority passengers so we found ourselves at the SilverKris Lounge in no time.  Upon presenting our Private Room invites (we thought they were cooler than the boarding passes), we were escorted into The Private Room.

The Private Room is a lounge within a lounge within a lounge.  You enter the SilverKris Lounge, then continue to the first class lounge and within the first class lounge is The Private Room.

The decor was elegant and understated.

As it was fairly early in the day, The Private Room was almost empty.  We chose a spot in the back near two small individual rooms.

This is where things got a bit too much for us.  Several staff members were waiting to assist guests.  Besides us, there were only two other guests.  We do not want to imply the staff did anything wrong.  They did not.  They were courteous, helpful and attentive.  Very attentive.  It was just somewhat difficult for us to relax with many sets of eyes trained on us, waiting for a request.  We know, we know…what a problem to have. Obviously many people (most people even?) might classify that type of service as impeccable but it just wasn’t our personal style.

Our bums barely had a chance to hit the chair before a staff member asked if we cared to eat in the dining area or our seats.  We opted to stay where we were and a table was whisked in front of us almost immediately.

A menu was presented to order breakfast.

Additional items were available at the buffet.

The apron views were a nice bonus.

Typically, our reviews are more photo heavy but most photos from our visit disappeared due to smartphone technical difficulties.  The back up did not back them up either. Apparently the lounge gods were not pleased with us that day – was it our take on the service?
