We did not want to use points for our Singapore accommodations so we opted for something that has yet to disappoint us: a serviced apartment.  We are fans of these “aparthotels” as they offer hotel service with the bonus of extra amenities.

Location

Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road Singapore is conveniently located next to Kampong Glam/Muslim Quarter.  Cross Beach Road to find Arab Street and a ton of restaurants.

The entrance to Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is, as the name implies, off Beach Road.

Follow the driveway and you will spot it tucked away right across a retail/office complex.

This complex has restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and a 24 hour convenience store.

Two MRT stations are nearby- it is a 5 minute walk to Nicoll Highway MRT and a 10 minute walk to Bugis.

Hotel Amenities

Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, library, free wifi and concierge services.  Free continental breakfast is available everyday except Sundays and public holidays.

The outdoor swimming pool has great views of the Singapore Flyer and city skyline. There is plenty of time to enjoy the pool (open 6:30am to 11 pm) and plenty of space.  Many of the occupants are long term residents who work so the pool is not busy on weekdays.

After consuming all that food Singapore is famous for, a visit to the fitness center might be needed.  The gym faces the pool and also offers a view of the skyline.

We did not have too much interaction with the staff, but they were helpful and friendly when we did.

Room

Our room was a one bedroom Executive Suite.  The suite was spacious with a modern decor.  Something about it gave off a well-appointed bachelor pad vibe.

We had a view of the Singapore Flyer but also the highway.

Our suite included a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, microwave, cookware, utensils and other odds and ends.  We especially appreciated the washer and dryer.  We are carry on only travelers so it’s nice to have an easy way to do laundry.

The closet had two bathrobes, slippers, safe, iron and an umbrella.

The usual amenities were included in the bathroom.  There was a shower but no bathtub. The only negative was the unpleasant odor that sometimes wafted through the pipes.  We read about this issue in reviews prior to our stay and thought we were in the clear- unfortunately, it surfaced a few days into our stay.  The issue was’t so bad that we needed to request a room change though.

Overall, despite the odor thing, we were pleased with our stay at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road.  The location was convenient, amenities were plentiful and we appreciated the bonus kitchen and washer/dryer.
