I love reading the annual travel lists compiled by various travel websites and newspapers on top travel destinations for the  year.  While I don’t particularly care if a destination I travel to is considered a must see, I love reading these lists for inspiration on where to travel to and discovering places I might not have heard of.

The New York Times list is one of my favorites.

Some of these places are new to me but many are already on my wish list including Bolivia, Medellin, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Seoul and Sri Lanka. I have yet to visit Singapore but have plans to visit in a few weeks.

I agree with New Orleans, Manhattan and Miami Beach as these are always nice. Cuba and Shanghai are two places that I have visited and loved.  Also we just wrote about Chengdu, China (number 44) this week and would recommend as well.
